The valley of Primiero – also known as “Valle del Cismon” – is located in the East of the province Trient, in the middle of the world-famous Dolomites and on the border to the province Belluno. The valley of Primiero includes six municipalities: Fiera di Primiero, Imèr, Mezzano, Siròr, Tonadico and Transacqua. Three fantastic mountain ranges surround the valley: in the West the Lagorai, in the south the Feltrine Peaks and in the north the Pala group. Walking-tours are the best way to experience this wonderful mountain world. The area of San Martino di Castrozza, Primiero and Vanoi offers nearly countless tours with different levels of difficulty and varied lengths. The hiking trails in the environs invite to pleasant walks through the great outdoors, for instance to the refuges in the Pala group. The offer includes demanding trekking tours as well as easy hikes from hut to hut. Winter fans will find 60 km of ski slopes and 30 km of cross-country ski runs in an exceptional landscape. In the vicinity there is situated also the mountain pass Passo Rolle at 2.000 m above sea level, where you can enjoy skiing for five months. The skiing area is accessible by modern lift facilities and snowmaking machines guarantee reliable snow conditions for 95% of the ski runs. For lovers of art and culture there are waiting several gothic buildings on a hill near by the town center of Fiera di Primiero, for example the parish church, the ancient small church of San Martino and the palace Palazzo delle Miniere.
