Hotel Nals near Meran - Hotel zum Rosenbaum
Past and Present
Hotel Zum Rosenbaum is in the village of Nalles, which lies amidst the lovely countryside of the Adige Valley, not far from Merano. Surrounded by picturesque vineyards, rose gardens and cypress trees, with the magnificent rose tree from which the hotel takes its name blooming in the garden, this former noble resicdence (built 1640) was even chosen as the setting for a film in the 1950's. For generations the house has belonged to the Pristinger family, which, in 2007, lovingly restored and extended it, taking great care to ensure that the modern additions blend with and complement the ancient walls. The result is a house of unique character, where vaulted ceilings and Tyrolean bay windows rub shoulders with the clean lines of modern design, and whose warm and friendly atmosphere makes you instantely feel at home. Our guests can enjoy comfortably furnished rooms in various different styles, a range of gourmet delights from both South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine, a large mediterranean-style terrace which catches the sun from the first rays of spring right through to the mild evenings of late summer, a sparkling swimming pool and relaxing sun-lawn, as well as refreshment from the Luis Trenker Lounge (named after the famous South Tyrolean film-maker). Two generations of the Pristinger family are waiting to welcome you and take care of your every need. With such warm hospitality, you will really feel you have come to stay with friends.
Something for everyone!
The Merano area offers visitors an incredibly wide range of holiday activities all year round. You'll find spectacular walking and hiking routes for all levels of fitness and motivation, whilst the more experienced mountaineer can climb magnificent peaks and even reach the mighty glaciers where "Ötzi" walked 5000 years ago. Cyclists can enjoy the many cycle tracks through the apple trees of the Alto Adige Valley, and golfers will be delighted to find 5 golf courses to chose from! Or why not saddle up and ride horseback, like knights of old, through the green orchards to discover the many ancient castles, steeped in history and legend. Those with a thrist for knowledge will find numerous museums, both large and small. Visits to the botanical garden of Schloss Trauttmansdorff in Meran and to the Archeological Museum in Bolzano, home to Ötzi, the famous ice mummy, are a must! Or you can just take a lazy stroll around the town, maybe pausing in the piazza for a capuccino and cake and to watch the world go by. In autumn you can enjoy chestnuts and new wine in a traditional local farmstead. And there?s skiing, sledging and snow-shoe walking in the winter? and much, much more!
