The picturesque town of Foiana, above Lana, is surrounded by thick forests and lush apple orchards.
When the days start to get fresh, the air clearer, and yellow colors leaves on the trees, all around Foiana is no longer the "Apple time", but chestnuts' one. Foiana, Prissiano and Tesimo held the "Chestnut Festival",the "Keschtnriggl", during which, to the happiness of gourmets, typical specialties are offered as the bread made of chestnuts and traditional sweets of any kind based on seasonal fruits.
During summer, Völlan is a popular starting point for hiking and mountain bike tours.
And for those looking for other sports, Lana has a 9-holes golf course, designed by British designer Michael Pinner (long employee of the golfing legend Jack Nicklaus!).

The proximity to the town of Merano and the lively center of wool can also make up during the eventually days of bad weather!
Visit the bar, where once sat the Princess Sissi, or go to late Gothic altar to Portella Hans Schnatterpeck, the art-historical jewel in the Church of Lana ...
And speaking of culture: Foiana also holds a treasure. The agricultural museum in the center of the country, explaining the uses and customs of the South Tyrolean peasant tradition.

During winter, the modern ski area of Merano 2000 provides pure entertainment with its 40 km of ski slopes and 3.5 km for sledging.
And, for a different evening, every Friday the slopes are open from 19.30 till 22.30, for a fun experience skiing or tobogganing on the slopes enlightened!
